Annual “Boost Your Energy” sports challenge for Siemens customers
Building relationships between Siemens employees and customers. Discover a unique way to use Activy’s possibilities!
Summary
About the challenge
The “Boost Your Energy” challenge involved the company’s customers and their Siemens account managers. In addition to gamification in the app, the whole initiative also included 5 webinars prepared by the challenge coordinators, which were a great complement to the campaign.
So far, we have organised 3 editions of the challenge in collaboration with Activy, and the organisers raise the bar year after year. During the latest edition, we wanted to engage as many customers as possible in the sports competition and webinars — and we did it. The increase in attendance was clearly visible: we managed to grow the number of engaged people almost 2.5 times.
This is a great success, followed by many individual achievements from participants: breaking personal sports records, taking first steps in new disciplines, or losing a few kilograms. Participants really got into the game, and in 2024 as many as 86 people registered an activity every single day.
Great initiative, I’m taking part for the first time. I’m not an athlete at all, more of a couch person. Activy motivated me to go for daily walks, which put me among the top 50 people!

Preparations
The initiative began with a webinar led by an Activy account manager, who explained all the participation rules. During the challenge, regular meetings with participants were a permanent part of the sports initiative.
They were led by Siemens coordinators with Activy’s support. The account manager shared interesting data, such as the longest cycling route completed or the people who were active every day, as well as graphics for presenting the results.
Attendance at each meeting was at least 100 people. Participants could see the strong commitment of the Siemens coordinators and appreciated it very much, as shown by their feedback in the survey conducted after the challenge ended.
Challenge progress
During the initiative, we managed to connect 6 independent departments and engage them in shared activities. Around 40% of participants took part in the “Boost Your Energy” challenge for the first time. For us, the real challenge was engaging people who did not yet know the programme and often did not know one another either.
Apart from attendance, what especially pleased the organisers was the strengthening of relationships between customers and account managers.
I liked many things about the challenge, but most of all the possibility to divide activities into many subcategories, as well as the option to add photos manually, for example when we did other activities such as running on a treadmill or riding a stationary bike. The connection with the app installed on my phone, which recorded the number of steps and other parameters, was also great. It was especially helpful when I forgot to turn on Activy.

The app effectively motivated me to get off the couch and, just as importantly, to discuss physical activity with other participants. The webinars were interesting and I could learn more about Siemens. I must admit that I would gladly take part in the next edition.

Results
Together, combining kilometres covered on foot and by bike, we managed to circle the equator more than 7.5 times — an out-of-this-world result! These record-breaking numbers are impressive, and behind them are many active stories.
Taking part in the initiative gave everyone a thrill, motivation to get off the couch — not only themselves, but also their families — and, in many cases, improved fitness, wellbeing, and health. Participants are already asking about the next edition, because Activy has become part of their new daily routine.
I took my whole family along the seaside! I really liked that entire families were involved in the activities — children walked together with their parents.
Thanks to the “Boost Your Energy” challenge, I lost 10 kg, I can fasten my belt on the last hole, and I motivated my wife to go for long walks.
A colleague on holiday walked around the swimming pool to complete the challenge distance, while others looked at him in surprise. 😉
Activy is an extra motivator that helped improve my physical and mental condition. :)

The habits they built made participants get used to movement, and regular activity will stay with them in everyday life. Because of the sports emotions they came to love, they cannot wait for the next “Boost Your Energy” initiative. :)
A big round of applause for the Siemens hosts, Jakub Jarecki and Paweł Tokarski, who had plenty of ideas for activities and successfully brought them to life. As planned, this was undeniably the best edition of the “Boost Your Energy” challenge so far.
